ABOUT THIS TONALA BURNISHED CLAY POT
This exclusive Tonala burnished clay pottery piece was created by Mexican folk art master Jaime Vásquez; grandson of the renowned pottery artist, Salvador Vasquez.
Despite his young age, Jaime is a respected artist in Tonala, amongst collectors and Mexican Folk Art connoisseurs. He has won many awards and prizes. Having at least one pottery piece by the Vasquez family is a must for collectors.
Tonalá is a small city outside of Guadalajara in the Mexican state of Jalisco, where potters combine ancient and modern techniques to create a regional tradition that is taught from one generation to the next since pre-Columbian times.
