ABOUT THIS BACKSTRAP LOOMED MEXICAN TEXTILE

Mexican shawls are Rebozos; one of the most important folk art textile traditions. This striped rebozo has an exquisite brown, yellow, pink & blue palette. It can be used not only as a shawl or wrap, but also as a table runner or bed spread. It was crafted by Tzotzil indigenous women from Chiapas, Mexico using the pre hispanic waist loom technique.  Making each shawl takes years of knowledge and days of dedication. With your shopping you support the work of indigenous families, with whom we work directly on a fair trade basis.
