To create this piece the background was painted in black, then the 23.5k  Gold fixed using a mordant and finally the color was added using oil painting on a fine brush.

The decoration of the piece is exquisite and elegant. The back of the dish is painted in a lacquered dark red tone. Due to its quality and fine technique this dish is origin denomination protected Just like the finest wines or liquors in the world.

Lacquerware has been produced in México since pre columbian times and competes with the lacquer produced in Asia in terms of quality and beauty.  Some pieces are decorated with colored oil paintings and gold and some are decorated with bronze instead of gold.  This dish is completely decorated with 23.5 Karat gold and oil paintings.
