ABOUT THIS HUICHOL BEADED MASK
This beaded mask was crafted by Huichol indigenous people, one of the most important creators of Mexican Folk art. Their craft is somehow a Shamanic art, since they represen their own vision of the universet with sacred animals. This mask depicts the eagle and two snakes on its cheek, The peyote symbol is also present at the center of a lizard on the chin. Huichol use peyote during their ceremonies to get a connection with the universe through the guidance of their chaman or Marakame.
