ABOUT THIS MEXICAN INDIGENOUS TEXTILE
This beautiful textile was embroidered by Mazahua indigenous people. The whole piece is decorated with their characteristic imagery. It displays a tree of life with birds and flowers. Mazahua indigenous people live in the state of Mexico and Michoacán. Mazahua means in Náhuatl "people of the deer", which is considered to be a sacred animal.
