ABOUT THIS BACK STRAP LOOMED INDIGENOUS TEXTILE

This fine Mexican Indigenous Textile piece of art is made of cotton and brocade wool was crafted in Chiapas, Mexico using the pre hispanic back strap loom technique.

The fabric displays an elegant & joyful striped multi colored combination. It is quite versatile and can be used as a garment (rebozo / shawl, scarf) or as a home decor element as table runner.

Making each textile takes years of knowledge and days of dedication. With your shopping you support the work of indigenous families, with whom we work directly on a fair trade basis.
