Mexican Fringed Shawl Yellow & Black Cape Indigenous Textile Art
ABOUT THIS BACK STRAP LOOMED INDIGENOUS TEXTILE
This rebozo (shawl) is an authentic Haute Couture Mexican Indigenous Textile. The fabric was made using the pre columbian back strap loom technique and the fringe is all hand knotted and covers the entire contour of the piece.
It was made by Purépecha indigenous people from Michoacán Mexico.
The yellow & black combination is breathtaking. The piece can be used not only as a garment but also as a home decor accent such as a table runner or bedspread.
Making each shawl takes years of knowledge and weeks of dedication. With your shopping you support the work of indigenous families, with whom we work directly on a fair trade basis.
