Mexican Cotton Shawl White w Yellow Stripes & Feathers by Purepecha Indigenous People
ABOUT THIS BACK STRAP LOOMED INDIGENOUS TEXTILE
This rebozo (shawl) is an authentic Haute Couture Mexican Indigenous Textile. The fabric was made using the pre columbian back strap loom technique and the goose white feathers are all hand knotted.
It was made by Purépecha indigenous people from Michoacán Mexico.
The yellow stripes on the white cotton is beautiful! The piece can be used not only as a garment but also as a home decor accent such as a table runner or bedspread.
Making each shawl takes years of knowledge and weeks of dedication. With your shopping you support the work of indigenous families, with whom we work directly on a fair trade basis.
