Huichol Art Beaded Cross with Sacred Deer Symbols
ABOUT THIS PIECE OF HUICHOL BEADED ART
This cross is an authentic Huichol Mexican Folk art piece crafted by Wirrarika indigenous people also known as Huichol. Huichol are famous for their beaded artwork and this beaded cross is a fine sample of their craft. It is decorated with sacred symbols such as the Peyote, the deer, the sun and the corn. To make each piece, Huichol carve the figure in wood, then apply a layer of bees wax and attach each bead with no previous design or pattern, only their talent, imagination and knowledge linked to a shamanic vision of the universe that dates back to pre columbian times.
