Emerald Green Shawl Runner Fine Mexican Indigenous Textile
ABOUT THIS BACK STRAP LOOMED INDIGENOUS TEXTILE
This rebozo (shawl) is an authentic Haute Couture Mexican Indigenous Textile. Its variegated fabric in green and turquoise tones creates a beautiful balance with the astonishing hand knotted fringe. When fully open, the fringe pattern resembles a butterfly. It can be used either as a garment or as a table runner or bedspread. It was crafted by Purépecha Indigenous People from Michoacán, Mexico using the pre columbian back strap loom technique.
The fabric is 100% cotton and the hand knotted fringe is rayon with a silky & shinny texture.
Making each shawl takes years of knowledge and weeks of dedication. With your shopping you support the work of indigenous families, with whom we work directly on a fair trade basis.
