ABOUT THIS BACK STRAP LOOMED MEXICAN TEXTILE
This amazing textile was made by Huave Indigenous People from San Mateo del Mar at the Coast of Oaxaca. It is 100% cotton and was crafted using the pre columbian back strap loom technique with brocade figures of the most traditional figures Of Huave Iconography such as animals, birds and sea creatures.
The amount of detail on the textile is remarkable. There's almost no empty space! and making each figure on a back strap loom takes lots of knowledge and skill!
This piece is so beautiful that an be framed. It can also be used as a table runner or a home decor accent.
