ABOUT THIS BACK STRAP LOOMED INDIGENOUS TEXTILE

This fine Mexican Indigenous Textile piece of art is 100% cotton It was crafted by indigenous people in Chiapas, Mexico using the pre hispanic back strap loom technique.  

The textile is decorated with brocade beautiful diamonds. It can be used as a garment (rebozo / shawl, scarf) or as a home decor element such as a table runner or bed throw.  

Making each textile takes years of knowledge and days of dedication. With your shopping you support the work of indigenous families, with whom we work directly on a fair trade basis.
