This outstanding Burnished clay vase was crafted in Tonala, Mexico by pottery artist Luis Cortés, one of the most renowned and awarded Mexican Folk artists. The pot is beautifully painted in beige & orange tones with crowned cherubs on each inside & floral motifs near the handles.

Mr. Cortés is a respected artist in Tonala and his pieces valued amongst collectors and Mexican Folk Art connoisseurs. He has won many awards and prizes. 

Tonalá is a small city outside of Guadalajara in the Mexican state of Jalisco, where potters combine ancient and modern techniques to create a regional tradition that is taught from one generation to the next since pre-Columbian times.
