ABOUT THIS OCUMICHO CERAMIC PIECE

This Clay wheel of fortune is an authentic piece of Mexican Folk art crafted in Ocumicho, Michoacán. A place world famous for the quality of its pottery and surreal creations such as devils and other fantastic creatures. This piece in particular was crafted by the talented Sabina Elías, a pottery master of Mexican folk art.

The wheel of fortune portrays the joy & magic of a fiesta day in Mexico. Games like the wheel of fortune are usually installed in small towns like Ocumicho during the saint patron's religious festivity. In this piece Sabina achieved (the artist) spent time adding each figure its own personality & style. Only a good observer and a dedicated artist  like her can do this. The wheel actually moves if you gently turn it. Some pieces are dettachable to facilitate transportation.

At our Mexican Folk art Gallery, Carapan; you will find this and more museum quality pieces from Ocumicho for sale!
