ABOUT THIS MEXICAN INDIGENOUS TEXTILE

This Table runner was crafted in Zongolica, Veracruz by Nahua indigenous people using the pre hispanic back strap loom technique. It is beautifully decorated with a central brown stripe of geometric patterns and two thinner stripes of yellow. The brown comes from the natura wool and the yellow from Pericón (Hypericum) Flower Dye.  The  Piece is 100% wool It can also be used as bedspread. It was crafted using a back strap loom.

Creating a textile like this takes years of knowledge and days of dedication. With your shopping you support the work of indigenous families, with whom we work directly on a fair trade basis
