Mata Ortiz Pottery

Mata Ortiz pottery is one of the finest in Mexico. It  has its origins in the pre hispanic art of Paquime Casas Grandes, Chihuahua. A now famous man named Juan Quezada recovered this lost technique and after many trials achieved the same quality of the pre hispanic pottery. Nowadays, the tradition has spread and talented Mata Ortiz Potters have emerged  from Chihuahua, adding their own style.
