About this Mata Ortiz Pottery Piece
Mata Ortiz Pottery is one of the finest in the world. In the 1970's, Mata Ortiz Pottery Artist, Juan Quezada discovered the link between the lost tradition of Paquimé culture pottery and contemporary Mexican ceramics, by recovering lost techniques and southwest decorative motifs. Mr. Quezada shared his knowledge with others and now many Mata Ortiz Potters are heirs of his art and honor him by creating magnificent pottery pieces.
Such is the case of this spheric shape pot in beige with a magnificent decor with a patterns inspired by Paquimé, Casas Grandes and Southwest Cultures.
