ABOUT THIS MEXICAN CLAY TREE OF LIFE

A day of the dead theme tree of life very well achieved by Mexican artists from Metepec. The piece depicts a Catrina as central figure surrounded by skeleton mariachis and a charro skull with a big mustache and Mexican hat.  The whole piece is surrounded with flowers and day of the dead skulls. The tree of life was dyed using mineral pigments directly on the clay, so its not painted but modeled with different types of colored clay.
