Striped Orange & Beige Fringed Shawl Fine Mexican Indigenous Textile
ABOUT THIS BACK STRAP LOOMED INDIGENOUS TEXTILE
This rebozo (shawl) is an authentic Haute Couture Mexican Indigenous Textile. It can be used either as a garment or as a table runner or bedspread. It was crafted by Purépecha Indigenous People from Michoacán, Mexico using the pre columbian back strap loom technique.
The black fabric is 95% cotton with golden synthetic stripes and the hand knotted fringe is rayon with a silky & shinny texture. The Color combination is fresh and elegant and the piece can be used either as a fashion accessory or a home decor accent.
Making each shawl takes years of knowledge and weeks of dedication. With your shopping you support the work of indigenous families, with whom we work directly on a fair trade basis.
