This exquisite textile was embroidered by Mazahua indigenous people. It displays a classical Mazahua flower, beautifully surrounded by rabbits. Mazahua indigenous people live in the state of Mexico and Michoacán. Mazahua means in Náhuatl "people of the deer", which is considered to be a sacred animal.The whole piece is decorated with their characteristic style and imagery.
